Master Gardeners Speaker Series - The Victorian Craft of Tussie Mussies with Donna Meister (Enon)

She joined the Master Gardeners in 2004 and maintains the Larva Garden for the butterflies. Today her program will focus on the Victorian craft of making Tussie Mussies which are small bouquets of live or dried flowers, typically given as a gift. Their history dates back to medieval times. During the reign of Queen Victoria they were a fashion statement.
Master Gardeners Speaker Series - Jon Joyce Teaches about Composting (Enon)
Submitted by site_admin on Wed, 05/22/2013 - 1:33pmJon became a member of the Master Gardeners in 2000 and assists with programming and doing evaluations for them. He is interested in composting for the backyard gardener and will be passing on to you what he has learned.
This program will take place at the Enon Branch, 209 E. Main Street, Enon, OH. Pre-registration is preferred by calling the branch at (937) 864-2502 or stopping by.

She has a passion for herbs and learning about all of the uses for herbs. She has developed several different characters that she portrays to entertain her audience. Barbara has worked with the Heritage Committee of the Master Gardeners to research what plants were growing when. In this role, she and the committee helped Pennsylvania House research what plants would have been on the property during the time period it was most active as a roadside inn. The Herita
